Social events in Oslo

I host under Room for More so people (including me) can meet new people and make friends. RSVP right here on the site or on Meetup; WhatsApp has the day-of coordination. First time at one of these? Here's what an evening is like.

This site is in English so more people can understand it. At the events we switch between English and Norwegian depending on who shows up.

I've hosted 23 evenings since early May, across 4 standing weekly nights, and the Meetup group is at 400+ members.

A few favourites to start with. The full overview has everything, with search and filters, and every event has its own write-up.

Why I do this

I started Room for More because I was lonely in a city full of people, and I doubt I was the only one. A lot of companies make money off loneliness staying unsolved. I want to be part of the solution instead: real events where people actually meet, and a site that helps you stay in touch with the people you met. I'm trying to build the kind of social scene I would want someone to build for me.

The membership, 40 kr a month, is what funds this and lets it grow. If you've been to an event and want more of this to exist, becoming a member is the most direct way to help me build it.

Gotten something out of this?

If these evenings have been worth something to you, or you just want all of this to keep existing, you can chip in on the support page. Every gift goes into the events, and if you want, your name gets immortalized on the thank-you list there. Nobody is asked to give anything, turning up is what all of this is for.
